Danner's double lifts Marlins to interleague win
over Brewers

Ben Danner's two-run double capped a five-run sixth inning to lead the Marlins to a 7-5 come-from-behind win over the Brewers Sunday at West Craven Park in interleague play.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Marlins trailed the entire game, but used four walks and three hits to score five runs in the sixth inning, and Manny Rosario pitched a complete game to pick up the win.

Losing Pitcher: Duane Johnson

Game MVPs: Ben Danner went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Austin Barry went 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Trey Guggino went 1-for-2 with three RBIs. Manny Rosario pitched seven innings, giving up nine hits and five runs. He struck out six and walked four.

Notable Effort: Jayson Melendez and Micah Caroon each went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Melendez also pitched five innings, giving up six hits and two runs. He struck out five and walked one. Ben Chappell went 1-for-2 with an RBI.  

Miscellaneous Notes: This was the second week of interleague play, with the Brewers hosing the Marlins from the Carolina Mens' Baseball League in Jacksonville. The two leagues conclude interleague play next week when the Mets host the Brew Crew at West Craven Park, and the Wardogs host the Brewers in Jacksonville.

Diamondbacks pound Pirates, 21-1

Michael Pastore went 4-for-4 and drove in six runs, and Josef Lawrence gave up two hits over five innings as the Diamondbacks crushed the Pirates, 21-1 Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Pirates struggled to throw strikes and made crucial errors, and the Diamondbacks pounded out 15 hits. The combination led to 21 runs and an easy mercy rule Winning Pitcher: Josef Lawrence

Game MVPs: Michael Pastore went 4-for-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Clayton Cuthrell went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Matt Curtis went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBIs. Josef Lawrence pitched a complete game, giving up two hits and one unearned run. He struck out four and walked one.

Notable Effort: Frankly Petrovich and Ricky Nava each went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Diamondbacks improve to 2-2. The Pirates fall to 0-6.

Rangers' pitching dominates Mets

Two errors and four hits lead to five first-inning runs, and Rangers' pitching had 17 strikeouts as the Rangers topped the Mets, 5-2, Sunday night at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Both teams had stellar pitching, the Rangers' Hunter Christopher had nine strikeouts in four innings and Drew Hopkinson had eight strikeouts in three innings, all while holding the Mets to two hits and no earned runs.

Game MVPs: Hunter Christopher pitched four innings, giving up two hits and two unearned runs. He struck out nine and walked one. He also went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Drew Hopkinson pitched three no-hit innings. He struck out eight and walked none. Rides Ordonez went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Christian Hodge went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Notable Effort: Malik Dixon went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Ryan Ventry went 1-for-3. Walker Hill pitched six innings, giving up seven hits and one earned run. He struck out four and walked two.

Cardinals rally to steal 10-9 win from Pirates

Tyler Deaton and Josh Kosma scored in the top of the seventh to give the Cardinals the lead, and Aaron Hernandez pitched through a jam in the bottom of the innings to lead the Cardinals to a 10-9 win over the Pirates Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Pirates jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but the Cardinals struck for four runs in the top of the fourth, and scratched together four runs in the final three frames to edge the Pirates.

Losing Pitcher: Jacob Witham

Game MVPs: Tyler Deaton went 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Aaron Hernandez went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Travis Boyd went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Notable Effort: Brian LaCamera went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Addison Moore went 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Miscellaneous Notes: This was the first interleague game between the ECABL and the Carolina Mens' league. The Diamondbacks played the Marlins in Jacksonville Sunday, with the Diamondbacks winning 15-9. Interleague play will continue Sunday with the Dinos hosting the ECABL Rockies in Jacksonville and the ECABL Brewers hosting the Marlins at West Craven Park. Interleague play does not count in the standings, but will play a role in the end-of-season tournament seedings.

Mets' 3-run sixth innings leads to 3-2 win over Rockies

The Mets took advantage of several errors and some timely hits to rally from two runs down in the sixth inning for a 3-2 win Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Alex Calabrese held the Rockies to two runs over five innings and Walker Hill allowed just one hit over the final two innings to pick up the win.

Game MVPs: Walker Hill tossed two innings, giving up one hit and no runs. He also threw a runner out at the plate from left field in the fifth inning. Patrick Ventray went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Alex Calabrese went 1-for-3 with a run scored. He also pitched five innings, giving up seven hits and two earned runs. He struck out two and walked one.

Notable Effort: Gabriel Brown went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alden Manning went 3-for-4 with a run scored. He also pitched four innings, giving up three hits and no runs. He struck out one and walked one. Michael Coombs and Brandon Bowden each went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Mets improve to 3-2. The Rockies fall 3-1. One week after the Rockies came from behind with a seventh-inning rally to beat the Mets, 4-3, the Mets returned the favor, coming from behind for a 3-2 win Sunday.

Dominant pitching leads Rangers to 6-1 win over Brewers

Christian Hodge allowed two hits over three innings, and Dakotah Thomas pitched four no-hit innings to lead the Rangers to a 6-1 win over the Brewers Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Rangers pitching was dominant. Hodge struck out five over three innings, and Thomas struck out nine over four innings.

Game MVPs: Dakotah Thomas went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. He also pitched four innings, giving up no hits, no runs and no walks. He struck out nine. Diamondbacks top Marlins for first Interleague win

Jimmie Lee and Vinny Vitelle each drove in three runs, and Matt Curtis drove in two runs and pitched two shutout innings to lead the Diamondbacks to a 15-9 win over the Marlins Sunday in the first Interleague game between the ECABL and Carolina Mens' Baseball League held in Jacksonville.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: With the Diamondbacks leading 10-9, Matt Curtis came in and shut the door, tossing two shutout innings, giving up no hits or walks while striking out four.

Rockies come from behind to beat Mets, 4-3

Gabriel Brown drove in the tying run and Bill Little drove in the winning run with one out in the seventh inning as the Rockies came from behind to defeat the Mets 4-3 Sunday at West Craven Park.

Key to the win: With one runner on due to an error, hit an RBI-triple down the right field line to tie the game.

Ordonez, Hopkinson lead Rangers to 8-2 win over Brewers

Rides Ordonez drove in three runs, and three pitchers held the Brewers to three hits and no earned runs as the Rangers topped the Brewers, 8-2, Sunday at West Craven Park.

Key to the win: Rides Ordonez doubled in three runs to key a seven-run second inning.

win over Pirates

The Diamondbacks took advantage of eight walks in the first two innings to score 15 runs on their way to a 16-5 win over the Pirates Sunday at West Craven Park.

A nine-run sixth inning propelled the Brewers to a come-from-behind 11-5 win over the Pirates Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Brewers trailed 2-1 after four innings, and tied it up in the fifth on an RBI-single by Cameron McSorley. The Brewers took control in the sixth inning, scoring nine runs on five walks, two errors, a hit by pitch and one single.

Little, Parnell lead Rockies to season-opening win

Bill Little tossed a 1-hit shutout, and Tyrone Parnell hit a three-run homer to lead the Rockies to a 4-0 win over the defending champion Brewers Sunday at West Craven Park to kickoff the 2026 season for the 18+ division of the East Carolina Amateur Baseball League.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Bill Little struck out the first three batters of the game and cruised to a 1-hit shutout, striking out 13 and walking two.

Dakotah Thomas, Drew Hopkinson and Hunter Christopher combined to toss a two-hit shutout and struck out 13 as the Rangers cruised to a 10-0 win over the Diamondbacks Sunday at West Craven Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Aside from the dominant pitching performance, the Rangers took advantage of 12 walks and four hits to plate four runs.
