Week 4 | 8.4.2024  (Originally scheduled for March 24)

Little, Pierre lead Rockies to rain-shortened win over Mets

Bill Little threw nearly four shutout innings and Gabe Pierre drove in two runs to help the Rockies win a 3-0 rain-shortened game that was barely continued Sunday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Gabe Pierre drove in two of the team's three first-inning runs, and that was all the scoring in the game.

Winning pitcher: Bill Little

Losing pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Game MVPs: Gabe Pierre went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Alden Manning went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Tyrone Powell went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Bill Little went 3 2/3 shutout innings to pick up the win.

Noble Effort: Connor Kasten went 2-for-2. Heath Henson went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: The was suspended on in the fourth inning the first time the two teams met. On Sunday, they played less than a full inning before the rains came again, but four complete innings make it an official game.

Week 2 | 8.3.2024  (Originally scheduled for March 10)

Wetherington powers Rockies to 5-3 win over Brewers

Caleb Wetherington drove in four runs and hit a three-run homer to lead the Rockies to a 5-3 win over the Brewers on Saturday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Leading 2-1 going into the sixth inning, Caleb Wetherington hit a three-run home run to put the Rockies up 5-1.

Winning pitcher: Bill Little

Losing pitcher: William Flynn

Game MVPs: Caleb Wetherington went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and a run scored. Bill Little went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Little also pitched four innings, giving up two hits and one run. Alden Manning went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Noble Effort: Kevin Hernandez went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Teddy Cardenas went 2-for-3. Jayson Melendez went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 11-2-1. The Brewers fall to 8-6.

Week 10 | 7.14.2024  (Originally scheduled for May 19)

9-run third inning dooms Marlins in loss to Rockies

Alden Manning held the Marlins to three runs, and the Rockies used a nine-run third inning to propel them to a 17-3 win over the Marlins, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Jordan Nobles doubled in two runs and Avery Brunni singled in two runs in a nine inning third inning that put the Rockies up 11-2.

Winning pitcher: Alden Manning

Losing pitcher: Matt Cartwright

Game MVPs: Alden Manning went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. He also pitched five innings, giving up six hits and one earned run. Kyle Dupas, Jordan Nobles, Brandon Bowden and Avery Brunni each went 2-for-3.

Noble Effort: Mike Valentin went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Xavier Vergerano went 1-for two with a run scored. Johnny Price went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 9-2-1. The Marlins fall to 0-12.

Red Sox survive 7th-inning rally, top Braves, 3-1

Kaiden Morales' RBI single keyed a three-run third inning, and three Red Sox pitches held the Braves to one run as the Red Sox topped the Braves, 3-1, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Reliever Josh Edwards pitched himself into a jam in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing a run and two runners on with only one out, But he got the next two outs to preserve the win.

Winning pitcher: Adam Schoch

Losing pitcher: Dakotah Thomas

Game MVPs: Kaiden Morales went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Walker Knight went 1-for-2. Adam Schoch pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up three hits and no runs. Matt Curtis pitched 2 2/3 scoreless relief.

Noble Effort: Shawn Ryan went 3-for-3. Travis Morton went 2-for-4. Victor Medina went 1-for-1.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Red Sox improve to 5-7-1. The Braves fall to 5-7. This was Dakotah Thomas' last game of the season. He goes in for a planned procedure on Thursday. The ECABL and its players will send positive vibes.

Flynn shuts down Mets, Brewers win 12-2

William Flynn gave up two hits and no earned runs while pitching a complete game, and the Brewers took advantage of 12 walks to pound the Mets, 12-2, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Brewers used five walks and only one hit to score four runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead.

Winning pitcher: William Flynn

Losing pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Game MVPs: While throwing the complete game, Flynn also struck out eight and waled one. At the plate, he went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Teddy Cardenas went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Jayson Melendez went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and one RBI. Kevin Hernandez went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Malik Dixon went 1-for-2, and Heath Henson went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Brewers improve to 8-4. The Mets fall to 9-4.


Week 15 | 6.30.2024

6-run fourth inning leads Red Sox over Braves

A six-run fourth inning made up of an assortment of errors, hits and walks was all the Red Sox needed to knock off the Braves, 10-6, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Following three walks and two errors in the fourth inning, Josh Edwards, Kade Ciraulo and Matt Forman each delivered with RBI-singles.

Winning pitcher: Josh Edwards

Losing pitcher: Ethan Beaver

Game MVPs: Kade Ciraulo went 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Josh Edwards went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Edwards also pitched a complete game, holding the Braves to three runs over six innings, before giving up three more in the final inning.

Noble Effort: Dakotah Thomas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. He also pitched three innings, giving up one hit and one run. He walked four and struck out six. Michael Mauch and Alex Dunbar each went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Victor Medina and Travis Morton each went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Red Sox improve to 4-7-1. The Braves fall to 5-6.

Rockies pound out 15 hits, beat Marlins 17-3

Alden Manning and Kyle Dupas each had three hits and drove in two runs as the Rockies pounded the Marlins,17-3, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Rockies scored five in the first inning, and three Rockies pitchers held the Marlins to four hits over the course of the game.

Winning pitcher: Alden Manning

Losing pitcher: Matt Cartwright

Game MVPs: Kyle Dupas went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Alden Manning went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brandon Bowden went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Gabe Pierre and Tyrone Parnell each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Zachary Julian went 1-for-1 with a run scored. Sergio Forte went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jimmie Lee went 1-for-1.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 8-2-1. The Marlins to 0-11.

Mets top Brewers, 9-7, despite late comeback

Gage Bohmuller and Heath Henson each drove in two runs, and Malik Dixon held the Brewers to two runs over six innings as the Mets beat the Brewers, 9-7, Sunday at Creekside Park, despite a five-run, seventh inning comeback attempt.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Gage Bohmuller keyed a five-run third inning with a two-run double to give the Mets a 7-0 lead and chase Brewers's starter William Flynn.

Winning pitcher: Malik Dixon

Losing pitcher: William Flynn

Game MVPs: Gage Bohmuller went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Connor Kasten went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Alex Calabrese went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Heath Henson went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Malik Dixon went 1-for-3 with a run scored. He picked up the win, tossing six innings while giving up three hits and two runs. He struck out five and walked four.

Noble Effort: Jayson Melendez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Micah Caroon went 1-for-3 with an RBI. William Flynn went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Mets improve to 9-3. The Brewers fall to 7-4.

Week 14 | 6.23.2024

6-run fifth inning leads Rockies over Mets

Brandon Bowden drove in three runs and Sean Garbarino gave up one earned run over five innings as the Rockies topped the Mets, 10-6, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Brandon Bowden's three-run double in the fifth inning followed by Gabe Pierre's RBI-double broke open a 2-2 game and led to the Rockies 10-6 win.

Winning pitcher: Sean Garbarino

Losing pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Game MVPs: Sean Garbarino went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, He pitched five innings, gave up six hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out seven. Brandon Bowden went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Gabe Pierre went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Connor Kasten went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Alex Calabrese went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Walker Hill went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Malik Dixon and Heath Henson went 2-for-4.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 7-2-1. The Mets fall to 8-3.

Braves pitching keeps Brewers' bats in check in 6-2 win

Dakotah Thomas gave up one hit over four innings, and six different players drove in a run as the Braves beat the Brewers, 6-2, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Dakotah Thomas gave up only a third-inning hits before leaving after four innings. He struck out seven and walked three,

Losing pitcher: Jayson Melendez

Game MVPs: Sabiel Del Rosario went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, Victor Medina went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Anthony Miedzinski, Dakotah Thomas Michael Mauch and Alberto Sosa each went 1-for-2.

Noble Effort: Quentin Montemarano went 1-for-2. Teddy Cardenas went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Micah Caroon went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Duane Johnson went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Braves improve to 5-5. The Brewers fall to 7-3.

Disastrous inning gives Red Sox 18-8 win over Marlins

An 11-run sixth inning spelled disaster for the Marlins, wiping out a one-run lead and turning it into an 18-8 Red Sox win Sunday night at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: With the Marlins leading 4-3, seven walks, three errors and five hits lead to 11 runs in the sixth inning for the Red Sox.

Winning pitcher: Josh Edward

Losing pitcher: Matt Cartwright

Game MVPs:  Josh Edwards went 4-for-6 with two runs scored and an RBI. Edwards also picked up the win after tossing six innings of relief. Jonathan March went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Matt Forman went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Adam Schoch went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two rns scored.

Noble Effort: Charles Macko went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Kelby Brooks went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Geoff McLawhorn went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Red Sox improve to 3-7-1. The Marlins fall to 0-10.

Week 13 | 6.16.2024

Braves comeback falls short, Rockies win 14-8

Kyle Dupas and Brandon Bowden each drove in two runs to lead the Rockies to a 14-8 win over the Braves Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Braves came back from a 7-0 lead to score six in the top of the fifth inning, but the Rockies answered with two in the bottom of the inning and five more in the bottom of the sixth  inning to take control.

Winning pitcher: Alden Manning

Losing pitcher: Zane Smith

Game MVPs: Kyle Dupas went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Gabe Pierre went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brandon Bowden went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Noble Effort: Dakotah Thomas went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Alec Dunbar went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Nate Johnson went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 6-2-1. The Braves fall to 4-5.

Brewers come from behind for 8-7 win over Red Sox

Alec Dunbar singled and scored on Quentin Montemarano's single, and Montemarano scored on an error with two outs to complete a walk-off, come-from-behind, 8-7 win over the Red Sox Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Two sixth-inning errors led to two unearned runs and helped the Brewers keep pace with the Mets and Rockies, who also won on Sunday.

Winning pitcher: Shane Hardison

Losing pitcher: Matt Curtis

Game MVPs: Quentin Montemarano went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Shane Hardison went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Alex Dunbar went 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Duane Johnson and Kevin Hernandez each drove in two runs.

Noble Effort: Justin Smith went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Walker Knight went 1-for-1 with two runs scored and an RBI. Jacob Lawrence went 1-for-2. Adam Schoch held the Brewers scoreless through three innings before giving up seven runs -- six unearned -- over five innings. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Brewers improve to 7-2. The Red Sox fall to 2-7-1.

Mets crush Marlins, 20-1, to remain in first place

Gage Bohmuller, Walker Hill and Connor Kasten each drove in three runs, and Mets' pitching gave up only one hit as the Mets crushed the Marlins, 20-1, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: With the Mets just taking a 2-1 lead in the third inning, Gage Bohmuller hit a three-run homer to left to put the Mets up, 5-1, after three.

Winning pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Losing pitcher: Matt Cartwright

Game MVPs: Gage Bohmuller went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Bohmuller hit a three-run homer over the left field fence in the third inning. Walker Hill went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Hill hit an inside-the-park homer to right field in the fourth inning. Connor Kasten went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Malik Dixon went 2-for-2 with four runs scored. Alex Calabrese pitched three innings, gave up no hits and one unearned run. Walker Hill pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Noble Effort: Randy Mason went 1-for-2. Um, yeah.

Week 12 | 6.9.2024

Kasten, Hill lead Mets to 12-6 win over Red Sox

Connor Kasten and Walker Hill each drove in three runs as the Mets beat the Red Sox, 12-6 Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Walker Hill's two-run single in the fourth inning put he Mets up 7-3, and Connor Kasten's bases-clearing double in the sixth inning gave the Mets a comfortable lead. Kaston was thrown out at third, trying to stretch it to a triple -- wah, waahh.

Winning pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Losing pitcher: Josh Edwards

Game MVPs: Connor Kasten went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Walker Hill went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Heath Henson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Brendan Milligan went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Gage Bohmuller went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Vinny Vitelle went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. He hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning.  Jacob Lawrence went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Justin Smith went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Brian Willis went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Mets improve to 7-2, and move back into first place in the ECABL standings. The Red Sox fall to 2-5-1.

Smith, Thomas help Braves crush Marlins, 17-3

Dakotah Thomas struck out 10 in four innings and Zane Smith went 5-for-5 with three home runs as the Braves crushed the Marlins, 17-3, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Zane Smith put the game in perspective right from the get-go. With the wind blowing out to left field, Smith led off the game with a solo home run to left. He followed that up with two more home runs to left.

Winning pitcher: Dakotah Thomas

Losing pitcher: Matt Cartwright

Game MVPs: Zane Smith went 5-for-5 with three home runs, seven RBIs and four runs scored. Dakotah Thomas went 5-for-6 with two runs scored. Thomas also pitched four innings, gave up one hit and one run. He struck out 10 and walked none. He left the game due to sore ribs (the other team's ribs, after he hit his fourth batter). Michael Mauch went 4-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. 

Noble Effort: Geoff McLawhorn and Courtland Hargrove each went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Nolan Shardlow went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Kelby Brooks went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Braves improve to 4-4. The Marlins fall to 0-8.

Little hits two homers, Garbarino tosses complete game as Rockies beat Brewers, 8-3

Bill Little crushed two home runs and drove in five runs, and Sean Garbarino gave up three runs while tossing a complete game as the Rockies beat the Brewers, 8-3, Sunday night at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Bill Little hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to put the Rockies up 4-3, and the Rockies tacked on two more runs to take a 6-3 lead.

Winning pitcher: Sean Garbarino

Losing pitcher: William Flynn

Game MVPs: Bill Little went 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and two runs scored. Hatteras Brooks went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Gabe Pierre went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Avery Brunni went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Sean Garbarino pitched seven innings, giving up 10 hits and two earned runs. He struck out 13 and walked two. 

Noble Effort: Duane Johnson went 2-for-2 with a run scored. William Flynn went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Lemuel Vizcarrondo went 2-for-3. Jayson Melendez, Micah Caroon and Shane Hardison each went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies improve to 5-2-1. The Brewers fall to 6-2.

Week 11 | 6.2.2024

Brewers crush Marlins, 18-1

William Flynn held the Marlins to five hits and one run over five innings, and the Brewers' offense took advantage of 15 walks to crush the Marlins, 18-1, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Five walks, an error and two hits lead to six second-inning runs for the Brewers. From there, the Brewers coasted for the win.

Winning pitcher: William Flynn

Losing pitcher: Geoff McLawhorn

Game MVPs: Jayson Melendez went 2-for-5 with five RBIs and a run scored. Duane Johnson went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Eric Hardison went 1-for-1 with three runs scored. William Flynn pitched five innings, gave up five hits, one run and one walk. He struck out nine. He also went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Geoff McLawhorn went 2-for-2. Kelby Brooks went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Devin Hazell went 1-for-2. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Brewers improve to 6-1, and sit atop the ECABL standings. The Marlins fall to 0-7.

Rockies, Red Sox go to extra innings, end with 3-3 tie

Avery Brunni singled in Tiquan Thompson in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extra innings, and neither team scored in the eight inning, ending the game in a 3-3 tie due to the time limit Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the tie: Both Red Sox starter Matt Curtis and Rockies starter Alden Manning pitched seven innings and struck out 10 batters.

Winning pitcher: Both Matt Curtis and Alden Manning pitched well enough to win.  Curtis gave up two earned runs in seven innings. He struck out 10 and walked one. Manning pitched seven innings, gave up five hits and three unearned runs. He struck out 10 and walked none.

Red Sox MVPs: Kade Ciraulo went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Josh Edwards, Neil Coffield and Brian Willis went 1-for-3. Josh Edwards pitched one inning of scoreless relief.

Rockies MVPs: Grant Pridgen went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Avery Brunni went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Alden Manning went 2-for-4. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies are now 4-2-1. The Red Sox are now 2-5-1.

Thomas, Smith hold Mets offense in check as Braves win, 6-2

Dakotah Thomas and Zane Smith held the Mets to four hits and two first-inning runs as the Braves went on to win, 6-2, Sunday night at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Red Sox took advantage of the first three batters of the game being hit by a pitch and then RBI-singles by Kade Ciraulo, Josh Edwards and Grant Alexander to take a 3-0 lead. . 

Winning pitcher: Dakotah Thomas

Losing pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Game MVPs: Dakotah Thomas pitched five innings, giving up two hits, one earned run and four walks. He struck out nine. Zane Smith pitched two innings, gave up two hits, no runs and one walk. He struck out three. Victor Medina and Michael Mauch each went 1-for-1 with two runs scored. Dakotah Thomas went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Matt Roth went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Noble Effort: Heath Henson went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Gage Bohmuller went 1-for-3 with an RBI. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Braves improve to 3-4. The Mets fall to 6-2.

Week 2 | 5.18.2024  (Originally scheduled for 3.10.24)

Edwards tosses 3-hitter, hands Mets first loss of season

Josh Edwards pitched a complete game and gave up two unearned runs to lead the Red Sox to a 4-2 win over the first-place Mets Saturday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Red Sox took advantage of the first three batters of the game being hit by a pitch and then RBI-singles by Kade Ciraulo, Josh Edwards and Grant Alexander to take a 3-0 lead. . 

Winning pitcher: Josh Edwards

Losing pitcher: Walker Hill

Game MVPs: Josh Edwards pitched seven innings, gave up three hits, two unearned runs and three walks. He struck out four. Vinny Vitelle went 1-for-1 with a run scored. Kade Ciraulo went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Grant Alexander went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Matt Curtis went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Noble Effort: After giving up three runs in the first inning, Walker Hill settled down to hold the Red Sox to four runs over six innings. He struck out four and walked five. Gage Bohmuller went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Walker Hill went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Scott Shaffer went 1-for-2. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Red Sox improve to 2-5. The Mets fall to 6-1. The game was originally scheduled for March 10, but was postponed by rain.

Week 9 | 5.5.2024

Melendez hits 3-run homer, Flynn strikes out 12 as Brewers rally in seventh for 7-1 win over Red Sox

Jayson Melendez hit a three-run homer and William Flynn gave up only three hits and one run as the Brewers scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat the Red Sox, 7-1, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Red Sox lead 1-0 going into the top of the sixth inning, but two walks and three wild pitches scored Jayson Melendez with the tying run. The Brewers then scored six in the top of the seventh inning on a single, two walks, a hit batter, two errors and Melendez's three-run homer to left field. 

Winning pitcher: William Flynn

Losing pitcher: Josh Edwards

Game MVPs: Jayson Melendez went 1-for-1 with three RBIs and two runs scored. William Flynn went 1-for-3 with a run scored. He also pitched seven innings, giving up three hits, one run and three walks. He struck out 12. Andew Johnson went 1-for-2.

Noble Effort: Matt Curtis pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks, while striking out nine. Jonathan Marsh went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Vinny Vitelle went 1-for-2.

Mets walk to 18-3 win over Marlins

The Mets took advantage of 15 walks to score 18 runs in a Mercy Rule, 18-3 win over the Marlins Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Marlins struggled to throw strikes, and when they did, the Mets got the bats going. 

Winning pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Losing pitcher: Zachary Julian

Game MVPs: Alex Calabrese pitched four innings, giving up four hits and one run. He walked one and struck out five. He also went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Andrew Bilvey went 1-for-1 with two runs scored and an RBI. Malik Dixon, Connor Kasten, Walker Hill, Chris Fletcher and Dan Ventry each went 1-for-2.

Noble Effort: Dario Carballo went 2-for-2. Adrian Perez went 1-for-1 with two runs scored. Nolan Shardlow went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Mets improve to 6-0. The Marlins fall to 0-6.

Garbarino, first-inning errors lead Rockies to win over Braves

Sean Garbarino gave up four hits and one earned run as the Rockies topped the Braves, 6-3, Sunday at Creekside Park.

Key to the win: The Rockies took advantage of three first-inning Braves errors to score five unearned runs.

Game MVPs: Sean Garbarino pirched seven innings, giving up four hits, one earned run and one walk. He struck out nine. Lu;e Warmack went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Kyle Dupas and Jordan Nobles each went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Schoch, Curtis power Red Sox to first win, 16-2 over Marlins

Adam Schoch's no-hitter was broken up in the sixth inning, and Matt Curtis drive in four runs with a home run and a double as the Red Sox pounded the Marlins 16-2 Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Adam Schoch held the Marlins hitless until Nolan Shardlow's infield single with one out in the sixth inning. Schoch finished the game, giving up four hits, two walks, and two earned runs. He struck out eight. 

Winning pitcher: Adam Schoch

Losing pitcher: Danny Nunez

Game MVPs: Matt Curtis went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Kaiden Morales went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Josh Edwards went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Jacob Lawrence went 1-for-1 with four runs scored.

Noble Effort: Xavier Vergerano went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Nolan Shardlow went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Kelby Brooks and Mike Valentin each went 1-for-3.

Mets take advantage of walks, crush Rockies 20-5

Gage Bohmuller homered and drove in four runs, and Chris Fletcher and Malik Dixon each drove in three runs as the Mets remained undefeated with a 20-5 win over the Rockies Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Rockies walked 12 batters in the game, and with runners on base, the Mets delivered at the plate. 

Winning pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Losing pitcher: Grant Pridgen

Game MVPs: Gage Bohmuller went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. He had four RBIs and two runs scored. Chris Fletcher went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Malik Dixon went 1-for-3 with a bases-clearing triple. Heath Henson went 1-for-1 with three runs scored and two RBIs.  Connor Kasten went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Bill Little went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Alden Manning went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Brandon Bowden went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Flynn, Hardison lead Brewers to 7-2 win over Braves

William Flynn held the Braves to five hits and one earned run, and Eric Hardison went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs as the Brewers beat the Braves, 7-2, Sunday at Creekside Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Braves threatened a comeback in the fourth inning. Trailing 4-1 entering the inning, the Braves scored one run and had runners on second and third with two outs. Flynn got out of the inning with a strikeout to preserve the lead.

Losing pitcher: Christian Hodge

Game MVPs: William Flynn went seven innings, gave up five hits, one earned run and two walks. He struck out eight. Eric Hardison went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Teddy Cardenas went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Hernandez, Melendez lead Brewers over Red Sox, 10-5

Kevin Hernandez went 3-for-4 and scored three runs and Jayson Melendez went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead the Brewers to a 10-5 win over the Red Sox Saturday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Micah Caroon and Eric Hardison led off the sixth inning with back-to-back doubles to start a six-run, come-from-behind rally.

Mets' six-run, fourth-inning rally leads to 14-8 win over Marlins and possession of first place

Malik Dixon, Alex Calabrese and Walker Hill each collected two hits to lead the Mets to a 14-8 win over the Marlins Saturday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Trailing 5-1 entering the fourth inning, the Mets used four hits, a walk and an error to score six runs. They padded the lead with four more runs in the fifth inning, two in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Losing pitcher: Matt Williams

Game MVPs: Malik Dixon went 2-for-4 with a run scored. He also picked up the win, tossing five innings while giving up three hits, four walks and one earned run. He struck out 10. Alex Calabrese went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Walker Hill went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Heath Henson and Jesse Kenefic went 1-for-3.

The Marlins fall to 0-4. The ECABL wishes Matt Williams a speedy recovery. Williams tried to make a driving catch in center field and got his wrist caught under him. X-Rays, which I didn't want to have to unsee, indicate a broken wrist.

Thomas tosses one-hitter, hits two-run homer as Braves top Rockies, 8-0

Dakotah Thomas hurled a 1-hit shutout and hit a towering two-run homer in the seventh inning as the Braves beat the defending champion Rockies, 8-0 Saturday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Thomas was dominant on the mound. He pitched a complete game, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out 14.

Game MVPs: Dakotah Thomas went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run -- the first home run by an ECABL player at Heath Field. Victor Medina went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Kasten's 1-out single caps comeback, gives Mets walk-off over Braves

Connor Kasten's single to center drove in Jesse Kenefic with the winning run as the Mets scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 3-2 walk-off win over the Braves Sunday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Dan Ventry singled to lead off the seventh inning and scored on Malik Dixon's double to deep center field.  A single by Jesse Kenefic, a walk by Alex Calabrese and a single by Connor Kasten completed the comeback win. 

Winning pitcher: Walker Hill

Losing pitcher: Sabel Del Rosario

Game MVPs: Malik Dixon went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Connor Kasten went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Jesse Kenefic and Dan Ventry each went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Rockies win walk-fest, remain unbeaten with 16-2 win over Red Sox

Five Red Sox pitchers walked 17 batters to help the Rockies beat the Red Sox, 16-2, Sunday at Heath Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Bill Little, Alden Manning and Kyle Dupas held the Red Sox to four hits and two runs, while five Red Sox pitchers walked 17 batters.

Game MVPs: Coleman Greene went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Grand Pridgen went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Alden Manning went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Brewers score six in the fifth inning to come out on top of back-and-forth game with Marlins

Jayson Melendez went 4-for-4, drove in four runs to lead the Brewers to a 16-11 win over the Marlins Sunday at Heath Field.

Key to the win: Quentin Montemarano, Jayson Melendez and William Flynn each singled and drove in two runs in the top of the fifth inning to give the Brewers the win.

Bill Little received the 2023 MVP and Silver Slugger awards. Adam Amerson, who was not present for probably some lame reason, received the Cy Young award. 3-run third inning gives Mets lead, pitching thwarts Brewers comeback

Four Mets pitchers held the Brewers to seven hits and three earned runs, and the Mets held off a Brewers' seventh-inning rally for a 5-4 win Sunday at Heath Field. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Four consecutive singles by Alex Calabrese, Heath Henson, Connor Kasten and Walker Hill scored three, third-inning runs to give them Mets a 4-3 lead.

Game MVPs: Alex Calabrese went 2-for-4 and pitched four innings, giving up two runs and five hits while striking out six. Heath Henson went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Connor Kasten went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Kasten also pitched one scoreless inning. Walker Hill pitched a scoreless inning, striking out three and walking one. Malik Dixon went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three stolen bases. Chris Fletcher went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Noble Effort: Duane Johnson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Shane Hardison went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Kevin Hernandez, Jayson Melendez, Andrew D'Elia and Lemuel Vizcarrondo each went 1-for-3. William Flynn pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

William Flynn gave up one hit and struck out 15, and Micah Caroon drove in three runs and Jayson Melendez drove in two as the Brewers coasted to an 8-0 win Sunday at Cutler Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Marlins never got anything going as Flynn held a no-hitter going into the fifth inning. He struck out 15 and walked two while tossing a complete game.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Brewers started off their franchise history with a win. The team was formally the Yankees, but they wanted to shed some bad mojo and start with a new look and new attitude.

Kyle Dupas went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs, and three pitchers held the Red Sox to three runs as the defending ECABL champion Rockies started the 2024 season with a 13-3 win over the Red Sox Sunday at Cutler Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Leading 4-3 going into the third inning, the Rockies used two errors, two walks and two hits to score four runs and take a commanding lead.

Losing pitcher: Josh Edwards

Game MVPs: Kyle Dupas went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. He also tossed three innings, gave up one hit and struck out three. Alden Manning went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brandon Bowden went 1-for 3.

Noble Effort: Kade Ciraulo went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Jonathan Marsh, Matt Curtis and Kaiden Morales went 1-for-3. 

Miscellaneous Notes: The Rockies only had six hits, but took advantage of 13 walks and some Red Sox errors to score 10 unearned runs.

Calabrese tosses shutout, Henson drives in three as Mets mercy Braves, 15-0

Alex Calabrese lost his no-hitter in the fifth inning and finished with a two-hit shutout as the Mets packaged hits around errors to coast to a 15-0 win over the Braves Sunday at Cutler Field.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Leading 4-3 going into the third inning, the Rockies used two errors, two walks and two hits to score four runs and take a commanding lead. 

Winning pitcher: Alex Calabrese

Losing pitcher: Dakotah Thomas

Game MVPs: Alex Calabrese gave up two hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings. He also went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Heath Henson went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Dan Ventry went 1-for-2, and Brandon Milligan and Walker Hill each went 1-for-3.

Noble Effort: Victor Medina went 1-for-2 and Anthony Miedzinski went 1-for-3. Thomas struck out nine in four innings. Five of his seven runs were unearned.. 

Miscellaneous Notes: A first-inning at-bat in the first inning by Connor Kasten played a bit role in the four-run inning. Kasten ran the count full and then fouled off six pitches before reaching on an error that scored two runs. Longs counts like that through the night forced starter Dakotah Thomas to more than 100 pitches in just four innings. Of Note: I've never seen a pitch over the backstop before Sunday.
