Rockies repeat, top Orioles 9-3 for ECABL championship
Sean Garbarino held the Orioles to two hits over six innings to lead the Rockies to their second straight ECABL title Sunday at Kafer Park.
The Rockies took a 6-1 into the third inning on July 31. After two delays already from nearby lightning, managers and umpires agreed to suspend the game until Sunday and complete the game.
Picking up on Sunday with a runner on third and no outs, the Rockies Landon Vick grounded out to score Tyler Held from third base to take a 7-1 lead.
The Orioles came back in the top of the fourth with a run on Parker Mills' solo home run to left and an RBI-ground out by Jamie Byers to score Gabriel Brown, who had singled.
The Rockies tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 9-3.
After pitching the first three innings before the delay, Garbarino pitched the final three innings to seal the win. He tossed six innings, gave up two hits and one unearned run. He struck out nine and walked three.
This is the second consecutive year the Rockies and Orioles have met in the title game. Last year, the Rockies won 5-4 on a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to win the 2021 championship.
