Schneider's RBI-double leads Dodgers over Nationals

Andy Schneider doubled to score Alberto Sosa to take a sixth-inning lead, and the Dodgers held on to win, 5-4, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Andy Schneider doubled in Alberto Sosa in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Nationals tied the score with three runs in the top of the inning.

Winning pitcher: Shawn Ryan

Losing pitcher: Alex Vizcarrondo

Game MVPs: Schneider went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Shawn Ryan went 2-foir-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Ryan also pitched a complete game, giving up three earned runs in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked four. Doug Amerson went 2-for-3.    

Noble Effort: Ervin Jones went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Tomas Hernandez went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Scott Shafer went 1-for3 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Dodgers had 13 hits and recorded five walks. Scoring only five runs, they left 12 runners on base.

Wilson and Wilson drive in six to lead Orioles to wet 12-2 win over Nationals

Jeff Wilson drove in four runs, and Lee Wilson and Jamie Byers drove in two each as the Orioles beat the Nationals, 12-2, in a rain-shortened game, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles pounded out 13 hits in just over three innings to score 12 runs -- four in the first, two in the second and six in the third.

Winning pitcher: Travis Wynne

Losing pitcher: Thomas Sesta

Game MVPs: Jeff Wilson with 3-for-3 with four RBIs and one run scored. Lee Wilson went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Jamie Byers went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored.   

Noble Effort: Jesse Kenefic went 1-for-1 with a run scored. Ervin Jones went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Tomas Hernandez and Johnny Price each went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: Travis Wynne struggled with control, walking five and giving up four hits, but held the Nationals to two runs in two innings for the win. Kevin Vanzandt pitched two scoreless innings.

Padres come from behind to beat the Dodgers, 8-4

Trailing 4-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Padres scored five unearned runs to take the lead, and added another run in the sixth inning to be the Dodgers, 8-4 Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Defense. The Dodgers out-hit the Padres, but seven of the Padres eight runs were unearned due to five Dodgers' errors.

Winning pitcher: Mike Arico

Losing pitcher: Rick Castro

Game MVPs: Johnny Price went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Danny Nunez and Mike Arico each went 2-for-4. Arico pitched five innings and gave up one earned run.  

Noble Effort: Rob Fravor, Andy Schneider and Teddy Cardenas each went 2-for3 for the Dodgers. Doug Amerson pitched four innings and gave up two unearned runs. Tomas Hernandez went 2-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: Both teams left nine runners on base, so there were scoring opportunities.

 Padres get 19 hits, hold on to beat Nationals, 17-13

Mike Arico, Dave Schifano and Bobby Leverett each went 3-for-4 and drove in a total of 10 of the Padres' 17 runs as the Padres held on to beat the Nationals, 17-13, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Hits. The Padres had 19 hits, and four players had three hits in the game.

Winning pitcher: Danny Nunez

Losing pitcher: Thomas Sesta

Game MVPs: Mike Arico, Dave Schifano, Bobby Leverett and Alex Ventura each went 3-for-4. Schifano drove in four runs and scored three. Arico scored four runs and drove in three. Leverett drove in three and scored two runs, and Ventura scored one run. Justin Honda went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored. 

Noble Effort: Heath Henson went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Ervin Jones went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and one RBI. J.P. Whitford went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: Each team left nine runners on base. The Padres survived despite walking nine Nationals' batters.

 Wilson leads Orioles to 9-3 win over Dodgers

Jeff Wilson pitched a complete game and went 4-for-4 to lead the Orioles to a 9-3 win over the Dodgers Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but it was Wilson's pitching that keyed the win, holding the Dodgers scoreless through five innings.

Winning pitcher: Jeff Wilson

Losing pitcher: Rick Castro

Game MVPs: Wilson pitched seven innings, giving up four hits and three earned runs, while striking out 10. Travis Wynne went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, and he scored three runs. Johnny Tripp went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Noble Effort: Shawn Ryan went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Ryan hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Dodgers made five errors that lead to four unearned runs. The Orioles left 10 runners on base.

Padres hold on, deal Orioles first loss of season

Mike Arico held the Orioles to three earned runs over seven innings, and the Padres got out of a bases-load,  Orioles, comeback attempt in the seventh to hand the Orioles their first loss of the season, 7-5, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Padres scored four runs in the third inning and three runs in the fifth inning, taking advantage of a few errors and some wild pitching.

Winning pitcher: Mike Arico

Losing pitcher: J.P. Whitford

Game MVPs: Mike Arico held the Orioles to six hits and three earned runs while pitching a complete game. Danny Nunez went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Johnny Tripp went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Jamie Byers went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: Chris Drake left the game early due to injury. The Orioles loaded the bases in the seventh inning with two outs, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Dodgers take advantage of errors to beat Nationals, 10-2

Shawn Ryan drove in two runs and scored two runs, and the Dodgers took advantage of errors by scoring eight unearned runs to beat the Nationals, 10-2, Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Dodgers took advantage of four Nationals fielding errors to score eight unearned runs. The Dodgers' Doug Amerson pitched four innings, giving up four hits and no earned runs.

Winning pitcher: Doug Amerson

Losing pitcher: Hezakiah Henson

Game MVPs: Shawn Ryan went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Andy Schneider and Rob Fravor each went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

Noble Effort: Scott Shaffer and Ervin Jones each went 2-for-3. Hezakiah Henson and Jack Wu each went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: Henson pitched a complete game for the Nationals, giving up eight hits and 10 runs. Only two of the runs were earned.

Dodgers get 17 hits to pound Padres, 23-2

Wayne Brown went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs, and Teddy Cardenas held the Padres to one run while pitching four innings of relief, as the Dodgers pounded the Padres, 23-2, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Braves scored four runs in the first and five runs in the second, and at that point they cruised to a win. Doubles by Wayne Brown in the first inning and Shawn Ryan in the second powered the offense.

Winning pitcher: Rick Castro

Losing pitcher: Danny Nunez

Game MVPs: Wayne Brown went 3-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBIs. Teddy Cardenas allowed six hits and one run over four innings of relief.

Noble Effort: Justin Honda went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Danny Nunez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: Every Dodgers' batter had a hit, and eight batters had two hits in the game. The Padres did manage nine hits, but only scored two runs.

Orioles dominate Nationals, stay undefeated

Jeff Wilson went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and three RBIs, and three Orioles' pitchers held the Nationals to six hits and four runs as the Orioles stayed undefeated with a 15-4 win Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles pounded out 17 hits and held the Nationals to one run in the first five innings,

Losing pitcher: Thomas Sesta

Game MVPs: Jeff Wilson went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and three RBIs. Jamie Byers went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, and Chris Drake went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Noble Effort: Ervin Jones went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Jack Wu and Tomas Hernandez each went 1-for-2.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Nationals left 10 runners on base. The Orioles remain unbeaten, and they have scored more than 10 runs in six of their nine wins this season.

Arico, Shackley lead Padres past Nationals despite Ervin's two home runs

Mike Arico drove in five runs and Gene Shackley drove in three as the Padres beat the Nationals 15-8, despite two home runs and six RBIs by Ervin Jones.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Down 6-2 in the third inning, the Padres scored three to close the gap, and then scored nine in the fourth to take a commanding lead

Game MVPs: Mike Arico went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and three runs scored. Gene Shackley went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and arun scored. Danny Nunez went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Ervin Jones hit a grand slam in the second inning, and a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Jesse Kenefic went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Miscellaneous Notes: Dave Schifano held the Nationals to four hits and two runs in five innings of relief to pick up the win..

Ryan, Amerson lead Dodgers to 11-6 win over Nationals

Shawn Ryan went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and Doug Amerson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Dodgers over the Nationals Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Ryan went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and one RBI and stole four bases to lead the Dodgers' offense. He also tossed a complete game, giving up six runs on six hits and four walks, while striking out five. 

Winning pitcher: Shawn Ryan

Losing pitcher: Hezakiah Henson

Game MVPs: Ryan went 3-for-4. Doug Amerson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Andre Perez went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Hezakiah (a.k.a. Heath, a.k. Hez) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tomas Hernandez, Thomas Sesta and Jesse Kenefic each went 1-for-3 for the Nationals.

Miscellaneous Notes: One of Amerson's hits was a bunt single past the pitcher. Honestly, a legitimate hit.

Jeff Wilson allowed five hits and one unearned run over six innings, and Randy Mason went 3-for-3 with two runs scored as the Orioles beat the Padres, 6-3, Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Jeff Wilson struck out eight and didn't walk a batter before being relieved after six innings.

Game MVPs: Randy Mason went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and Kevin Vanzandt went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. 

Noble Effort: David Hackney went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Danny Nunez went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The field was finally dry after several days of rain in the past week.

Orioles crush Nationals, 22-2, in rain-shortened game

Travis Wynne hit a grand slam and Randy Mason went 3-for-3 with four RBIs as the Orioles pounded out 15 hits en route to a 22-2 win over the Nationals Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles led 6-2 after two innings but used nine hits, four walks and two errors as they batted around the order and scored 13 runs in the third inning.

Winning pitcher: Jamie Byers

Losing pitcher: Thomas Sesta

Game MVPs: Randy Mason went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored. J.P. Whitford went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored. Travis Wynne went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and scored three runs. 

Noble Effort: Jesse Kenefic went 1-for-1 with a run scored.

Miscellaneous Notes: The rain started before the first pitch and continued through the entire game. The game was called after four innings.

Dodgers hold off late rally, beat Padres 9-5

Shawn Ryan hit a two-run homer, and Rick Castro held the Padres to three hits and one earned run over four innings as the Dodgers beat the Padres, 9-5, Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

Key to the win: Shawn Ryan set the tone with a towering two-run home run to left field in the first inning.

Winning pitcher: Rick Castro

Losing pitcher: David Schifano

Game MVPs: Shawn Ryan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Andre Perez and Dom Byrnes went 1-for-2, and Thomas Sesta went 2-for-3. 

Noble Effort: Mike Arico went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, Danny Nunez went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and David Schifano and Johnny Price went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Padres scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 6-5, but the Dodgers answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

15-run sixth inning disaster kills Padres as Nationals pick up first win

The Padres entered the sixth inning down by only two runs, but five pitchers combined to walk eight batters, hit two batters and give up four hits that led to 15 runs and a Nationals, 23-9, win Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Thomas Sesta pitched all six innings, giving up three earned runs and five walks, while striking out four.

Winning pitcher: Thomas Sesta

Losing pitcher: David Schifano

Game MVPs: Jesse Kenefic and Scott Shaffer each scored four runs. Marcus Clifton and Daniel Bland each went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored. Thomas Hernandez went 1-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. 

Noble Effort: Bobby Leverett went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Kelby Brooks and David Schifano each went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: Three Padres' pitchers entered the game in relief and didn't record an out. The Padres walked 13 for the entire game, but eight came in the disastrous sixth inning.

Defense dooms Dodgers, Orioles win 7-2

Eight errors led to five runs, and Jeff Wilson tossed a complete game as the Orioles stayed unbeaten with a 7-2 win over the Dodgers Tuesday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Jeff Wilson struck out seven and didn't walk a batter on his way to a complete game. Wilson gave up seven hits, and neither of the two Dodgers runs were earned.

Winning pitcher: Jeff Wilson

Losing pitcher: Teddy Cardenas

Game MVPs: Seven of the Orioles's nine players had hits, and none had more than one hit. 

Noble Effort: Wayne Brown went 2-for-3, and Teddy Cardenas and John Peterson went 1-for-2. Cardenas also pitched four innings. He gets the loss despite giving up only one hit and two unearned runs.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Orioles left 13 runners on base, so they could have scored more than seven runs had they taken advantage of opportunities. Both teams had seven hits in the game.

Padres give Orioles scare, but fall in extra innings, 6-1

The Orioles scored one run in the seventh to push the game to extra innings and scored five runs in the eighth inning to beat the Padres Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Brian Edwards reached on an error with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth inning, scoring all three runners and giving the Orioles their first lead of the night.

Winning pitcher: Travis Wynne

Losing pitcher: Mike Arico

Game MVPs: J.P. Whitford and Travis Wynne held the Padres to one run over eight innings. Wynne went 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Lee Wilson padded a 4-1 lead with a two-run double in the eighth inning.

Noble Effort: Mike Arico held the Orioles scoreless into the seventh inning. Arico gave up an unearned run in the seventh and two unearned runs in the eighth inning before being relieved. Arico and Gary Fannin each went 1-for-2 for the Padres.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Padres had opportunities to open up leads in the third and fourth innings, but base running miscues led to inning-ending, Orioles double plays. The Padres defense was solid through six innings, but two errors led to all six, unearned Orioles runs.

9-run first inning dooms Nationals as Dodgers win

The Dodgers took advantage of six walks in the first inning to score nine runs and coast to a 13-9 win over the Nationals Tuesday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Nationals walked 12 batters in the game and lost despite out-hitting the Dodgers 10-9.

Winning pitcher: Doug Amerson

Losing pitcher: Tomas Hernandez

Game MVPs: Shawn Ryan and Teddy Cardenas each went 3-for-4. Ryan drove in two runs and scored one. Cardenas scored two runs and drove in one. Steve Billings went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Doug Amerson and John Perterson combined to hold the Nationals to three earned runs.

Noble Effort: Tomas Hernandez, Todd Hawkins and Johnny Price each went 2-for-4. Dom Byrnes went 1-for 2, and Marcus Clifton drove in two runs with an opposite-field double.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Dodgers gave up five unearned runs in the first inning, starting the game off with three consecutive errors.

Padres, Dodgers make costly errors, but Padres outlast Dodgers, 9-8 in extra innings

Dave Schifano reached on an error and scored on another error as the Padres beat the Dodgers, 9-8, in extra innings Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Two errors in the top of the eight inning allowed one run to score. The Padres scored four unearned runs due to errors. The Padres defense also had its miscues, committing six errors and giving up six unearned runs.

Winning pitcher: Mike Arico

Losing pitcher: Teddy Cardenas

Game MVPs: Mike Arico held the Dodgers to eight hits and two earned runs while pitching a complete game for the Padres. Gene Shackley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noble Effort: Alberto Sosa went 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Shawn Ryan went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Miscellaneous Notes: Arico picked up his second win of the season.

Wynne's 3-run homer caps win over Nationals

The Orioles' offense pounded out 22 hits, and Orioles' pitchers held the Nationals to six hits as they remained unbeaten with a 16-3 win over the Nationals Tuesday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles scored three runs in the first inning, three in the second and five in the third to take a commanding lead, and the Nationals' defense did no favors for its pitcher.

Winning pitcher: Jeff Wilson

Losing pitcher: Hezakiah Hension

Game MVPs: Chris Drake went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Travis Wynne went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored -- capped by a 3-run homer in the sixth inning. Anthony Sireci, Jeff Wilson, Alejandro Ventura and Lee Wilson each had three hits.

Noble Effort: Hezakiah Hension hit a solo home run in the first inning. Jack Wu, Johnny Price and Gene Shackley each had hits for the Nationals.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Orioles left 14 runners on base, and the Nationals left 9 runners stranded.

Whitford slugs two home runs, drives in six to lead the Orioles to a 13-6 win over Dodgers

J.P Whitford hit a three-run home run in the third inning and a solo homer in the fifth inning, driving in six runs in total as the Orioles slugged the Dodgers, 13-6, Monday at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Trailing 2-1 in the third inning, Whitford cracked a three-run home run to give the Orioles a 4-2 lead. The Orioles put the game out of reach by scoring eight runs in the fifth inning.

Winning pitcher: Anthony Sireci

Losing pitcher: Teddy Cardenas

Game MVPs: Whitford went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and a single. He drove in six runs and scored two. Johnny Tripp and Jamie Byers each went 2-for-4. 

Noble Effort: Tomas Hernandez went 3-for-3 and Teddy Cardenas went 2-for-3 for the Dodgers.

Miscellaneous Notes: The game was originally scheduled for March 29, but was postponed due to rain until June 5.

Padres give up 12 in the first inning, fight back for 22-13 win over Nationals

The Nationals scored 12 runs on eight hits in the first inning, but the Padres chipped away at the lead and used a big third inning to come from behind and beat the Nationals, 22-13, Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Padres has six hits, three walks and reached on a couple of errors to score 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning to go up 18-12. Mike Arico held the Nationals to one unearned run over 3 1/3 innings.

Winning pitcher: Mike Arico

Losing pitcher: Richard D'Elia

Game MVPs: Justin Honda went 4-for-4 with 8 RBIs. The big blow was a three-run double in the third inning. Kelby Brooks went 3-for-4 with five runs scored and an RBI.  Arico gave up no hits and one unearned run in 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Noble Effort: Scott Schaffer and Tomas Hernandez each went 2-for-3. Schaffer scored two runs and Hernandez drove in three and scored one.

Miscellaneous Notes: Each team had big innings, batting around the order in those innings. The Nationals scored 12 in the first inning with 17 batters reaching the plate. The Padres scored 10 in the third inning when 15 batters reached the plate.

Dodgers capitalize on Nationals pitching, timely hitting to earn first win

The Dodgers took advantage of 11 Nationals walks to score 14 runs and record their first win of the season -- and their first win since transitioning from the Braves last season to the Dodgers this season

Key to the win: The Dodgers scored four runs in the first inning and five in the fifth inning to accumulate a big lead and cruise to a win.

Winning pitcher: Mike Gleason

Losing pitcher: Richard D'Elia

Game MVPs: Rob Fravor went 2-for-3 with five RBIs and Andy Schneider went 2-for-2 and scored four runs. Wayne Brown went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Noble Effort: D'Elia pitched threee innings and gave up four hits and one earned run. Scott Schaffer went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Thomas Sesta went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Orioles pound out 14 hits as they cruise to 19-9 win over Padres

Randy Mason and Chris Drake each had three hits, and Kevin Vandandt drove in four runs and scored three as the Orioles beat the Padres, 19-9, Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles scored 14 runs in the first inning, taking advantage of eight walks and some timely hits, as they easily cruised to their third win of the season.

Winning pitcher: Brian Edwards

Losing pitcher: Johnny Price

Game MVPs: Randy Mason and Chris Drake each went 3-for-4, and Kevin Vandandt, Jamie Byers and Anthony Sireci each had two hits. Four Orioles pitchers held the Padres to five hits.

Noble Effort: Kelby Brooks wet 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Danny Nunez, Alex "Chalupa" Ventura, Bobby Leverrett and Johnny Price each went 1-for-3.

Miscellaneous Notes: The Orioles left 11 runners on base. The Padres walked 12 batters in the game.

Tripp, Vanzandt, lead Orioles to 15-1 win over Nationals

Johnny Tripp and Kevin Vanzandt each drove in three, and Vandandt held the National to four hits over six innings as the Orioles topped the National, 15-1, Wednesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: Kevin Vandandt gave up four hits and one earned run in six innings. He struck out three and walked two. The Orioles had eight hits and took advantage of nine walks to score 15 runs.

Losing pitcher: Scott Shaffer

Game MVPs: Vandandt tripled to drive in three runs.

Noble Effort: Scott Shaffer went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Miscellaneous Notes: Eight Orioles' hitters had a hit in the game. The Orioles scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to an easy win.

Wilson, Vanzandt, Whitford lead Orioles to big win over Dodgers

Jeff Wilson and Kevin Vanzandt each drove in four runs, and J.P. Whitford gave up one earned run while tossing a complete game as the Orioles pounded the Dodgers, 18-4 Tuesday night at Kafer Park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Key to the win: The Orioles had 21 hits and had two, six-run innings as their offense proved to be too much for the Dodgers

Winning pitcher: J.P Whitford

Losing pitcher: Andre Perez

Game MVPs: Whitford pitched seven innings and gave up nine hits. Three of the four runs he gave up were unearned. He struck out nine and walked two. Randy Mason went 4-for-5 and Johnny Tripp and Jeff Wilson each went 3-for-4

Noble Effort: Alberto Sosa went 3-for-4 and Rob Fravor went 2-for-3 to lead the Dodgers offense.

Miscellaneous Notes: Tripp hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning. This was the first game in the 35+ Division for both teams. The Dodgers played as the Braves last season but changed their name and colors. Several of the Orioles players played last season for different teams, but the new Orioles formed during the off-season.
